3.1 What are minimum requirements for adequate rabies surveillance?

There are several aspects that need to be considered to implement an adequate rabies surveillance program [read more here]. These are (i) legal support for reporting of cases, (ii) infrastructure and personnel, (iii) sampling, (iv) sample storage, (v) submission and shipment of samples, (vi) diagnostic procedures to be used,(vii) necessary baseline data, and (viii) analysis and dissemination of results.
