4.5 Intra vitam rabies diagnosis in humans

Intra-vitam or ante-mortem rabies diagnosis is the method of choice to confirm a suspect human rabies case while the patient is still alive. The use of intra-vitam techniques for the diagnosis of rabies in animals is strongly discouraged and in many countries is prohibited.
